It was our turn to make some play dough to bring in to preschool.
Since October starts tomorrow, we made orange.
This is an easy recipe, and, as you can see,
we had a lot of fun making it together!
In a medium-size heavy saucepan, mix 2 Cups flour,
1 Cup salt, 4 teasp. cream of tartar.
Add 2 teasp. cooking oil, and 2 Cups water, and
food coloring.
Stir frequently over medium heat until the mixture
pulls away from the sides and becomes "play-doh"-like
consistency. Remove from heat to wax paper.
When cool enough to handle, knead.
Then place in air-tight container.
Will keep for several weeks.
*Editor Note: We assembled all the ingredients in a large bowl first- before transferring to the stovetop-made it more child-friendly that way*
